Top 10 Most Wanted Disney Villains

The antagonist in a Disney film is more often than not a very, very bad person.  Calling Disney villains bad people isn’t news to anyone, in fact, it is their sole purpose to be bad.  The more deplorable a Disney villain is, the more innocent and likeable its hero becomes.  The more malicious and evil a Disney villain becomes, the more human, and real, our hero becomes.  In the eyes of children, these villains are scary and mean.  Scary and mean are all the reason children need to dislike them.  To the parents and adult fans of Disney, these villains are so much more.  They are criminals, of the worst kind.  Here is my list.  Here is what I would consider the Top 10 Most Wanted Disney Villains, and list of real crimes they’ve committed.

1. Scar: The Lion King – Wanted for treason, attempted murder, assault and battery, child endangerment, and 1st degree murder.  Scar is, as of today, the only Disney villain to commit murder on screen.  Not only was his victim his own brother, but his victim was also the King, making Scar a true criminal to the crown.  The remainder of his list of crimes were all committed against the crowns next of kin, Simba, the prince of the kingdom.

2. The Coachman: Pinocchio – Wanted for kidnapping, child endangerment, providing alcohol to minors, providing tobacco to minors, human trafficking, enslavement of minors, child labor, and forced labor.  The Coachman profits on the naivety of children.  Children are promised a good time at the Coachman’s Pleasure Island theme park where, without supervision, children are given alcohol, tobacco, weapons, and are encouraged to gamble and fight.  Once the children have succumbed to the guilty pleasures of the resort, they are subdued, caged, and sold into slavery to work in a salt mine.  Often times they are heard calling for their parents as they are shipped off.

3. Mother Gothel: Tangled – Wanted for treason, kidnapping, theft, attempted murder, conspiracy, assault, and wrongful imprisonment.  Mother Gothel kidnapped the princess as an infant, and held her until adulthood.  Mother Gothel convinced her victim that she was her child to build false trust and avoid any attempt at escape.  When confronted and challenged, Mother Gothel attacked a second victim with a knife, with intent to kill.

4. Judge Claude Frollo: The Hunchback of Notre Dame – Wanted for attempted genocide, manslaughter, abuse of power, attempted infanticide, attempted murder, police brutality, assault, kidnapping, wrongful imprisonment and racial discrimination.  Judge Frollo killed his first victim on the steps of the church and left her infant child in the cold.  Years later, Judge Frollo wrongfully imprisoned that same child, and used his position of power to attempt a genocide of the gypsy people of Paris.

5. Gaston: The Beauty and the Beast – Wanted for attempted murder, wrongful imprisonment, incitement to riot, breaking and entering, treason, assault and battery, bribery, and blackmail.  Gaston led and incited a gang of citizens in the storming of a government establishment with the intent of murdering its inhabitants.  He also paid a licensed psychologist to falsely diagnose and imprison the father of a female citizen of whom Gaston has openly obsessed over.

6. Captain Hook: Peter Pan – Wanted for piracy, attempted murder, theft, kidnapping, child abuse and child endangerment.  Captain Hook, through a wanton need for revenge for the loss of his hand, has led a child hunting ring for a number of years.  He attempted the murder of a child by placing a bomb in the child’s bedroom, after kidnapping numerous other children.  He openly threatened to kill the kidnapped children if they chose not to join in his campaign as a pirate.

7. Clayton: Tarzan – Wanted for animal cruelty, mutiny, piracy, attempted murder, illegal hunting and trafficking of endangered exotic animals.  Clayton acted as a safari guide for the purpose of gaining access to endangered exotic animals in order to hunt, capture, and profit on the illegal sales of said endangered species.  In doing so, he attempted the murder of another human being, led a mutiny, and abused endangered and exotic animals.

8. Evil Queen: Snow White – Wanted for attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and tyranny.  The evil queen attemted to hire a specialist to carry out the murder of her step child on the basis of jealousy.  When learning of the failed attempt, the Evil Queen then attempted to commit the murder herself by acting as an innocent produce vender and gifting her victim a poisoned product.

9. Maleficent: Sleeping Beauty – Wanted for treason, attempted murder, trespassing, conspiracy to commit murder, arson and kidnapping.  Maleficent threatened the child of the king as an infant and foretold of her future crimes.  As promised, Maleficent attempted to follow through with her crimes and attempted to murder her victim.  When confronted, Maleficent started a fast spreading fire to aid in her escape.

10. Cruella De Vil: 101 Dalmations – Wanted for animal cruelty, attempted murder of an animal, kidnapping, and reckless driving.  Obsessed with fashion, Cruelly De Vil legally purchased numerous puppies with the intent of murdering them for their fur.  When realizing she had not acquired an adequate number for her goal, she kidnapped 15 more from a friend and held them in a rundown building with limited food and water.
